Company Overview

EME Career Consultants (上海美谊商务咨询有限公司) was established in Shanghai as a joint venture in February 2014 as a cross-cultural performance training, coaching, consulting, and events platform based on the principle that understanding, acknowledging, and adjusting AMA Values (Attitude, Mindset, and Approach) will lead to better outcomes in any cross-cultural business engagement.

EME's primary target audience ranged from MBA students, where its co-founder, Gene J. Hsu, was an adjunct instructor (Shanghai International Studies University SISU MBA, China Eastern University of Science and Technology ECUST MBA), to Chinese white-collar professionals enrolled at Hong Kong University—Institute of China Business, where he taught a 16-hour cross-cultural management course over five semesters.

When Gene moved his family back to the US to Irvine, California, in June 2017, we decided to rebrand our training, coaching, and advisory services as EME Consultants LLC (DBA EME China Consultants), helping Westerners better understand how Chinese people think, why they behave the way they do, and how to create more constructive business relationships with them.

Our mission is to improve US-China relations one relationship at a time through our media, books, podcasts, online training programs, and China advisory services.
